Things You Need to Know

SLEEP TIMES
Cots for the babies are available in the sleep room situated between the baby rooms for your baby to rest, and the bedding is changed with each child. We do not have set sleep times for all the children as they all have different routines which we try to keep, as well as respecting your wishes. Older children requiring sleep will have an area set aside for this purpose. Please let us know on the registration form your child’s routine.

CLOTHING
Your child maybe doing messy, crafty things during the day so please think about how you dress them, we do provide aprons but they still find somewhere to drip paint. Please provide a spare set of clothes in case of any accidents, coat for outdoor play and wellies and ensure all items are named.These can either stay with us in a named bag or go home with your child. (If your child is in nappies then a daily supply of disposable nappies will be required.

NURSERY
If your child attends the Wilberfoss School Foundation Unit it is up to you to decide whether or not we are responsible for him/her during this time. If you do not need us to take your child to the Nursery but only collect them, then that is when our responsibility for your child starts. You will not be charged for this time but we cannot guarantee to be able to take your child during the school holidays during these times or if your child is for any reason unable to attend Nursery. If you would like us to hold this vacancy open then you will be charged the usual rate for this time.

HEALTH PROBLEMS
Any health problem your child may require treatment for by the nursery needs prior written consent from you stating that we have authority to administer any drugs e.g. inhalers etc. This also applies to any one off drugs your child maybe on, such as Antibiotics or Cough Medicines etc. (A child prescribed antibiotics must remain at home for the first 24hrs). We are not authorized to administer drugs not prescribed to your child by their doctor and always need written consent so please take the time to do this before leaving your child with us. This is an Ofsted Rule. If we ever do administer drugs then we will write down times and doses that your child has been given throughout the day. You will need to sign acknowledgement of this when you collect your child. Reasons your child would not be able to come to the Nursery would be any contagious diseases, some of which are mentioned in the information pack along with their incubation periods. Please adhere to them for the health and safety of all the other children and for the well being of your own child. A sick child will want to be at home with you.

COLLECTING YOUR CHILD
If anyone other than yourself will be collecting your child from the nursery then we need prior warning from you verbally or written for your child’s own safety. During the registration process you will have choosen a pin you will also need to have given this to the person collecting. They will then be asked on collection what the pin is. If ever you have any worries or problems please let us know and we can arrange a convenient time for us to discuss them. Any child left after 6:15pm will be charged at £10.00 per every 15 minutes. This money will go directly to the 2 staff who have stayed behind and will be charged separately from your bill. Ofsted state we do have to call social services if a child is not collected after a long period of time.

OUTINGS
From time to time we may go on outings with the children. You will complete a consent form for local outings e.g. within the village during the registration process. Any trips further afield will require additional prior written consent.

PHOTOGRAPHS
We will request written permission for taking photographs of your child (photographs have a large part to play in your child’s file) only Nursery cameras will be used.

SUNSCREEN
We are not permitted to put sunscreen on your child with out written permission, this is requested during the registration process. Please make sure you send your child with named sunscreen factor 20 plus every day in their bag as well as sun hats. If you do not send sunscreen then we do hold some here and in signing the form you are giving us permission to use ours in the absence of your child’s own sun cream and a small charge will apply.
